Craven Smart Start is currently hiring for the following positions:

Child Care Health Consultant

Provide on-site health & safety consultation, technical assistance, training and telephone consultation to child care facilities in Craven County. Will also provide health education to children, parents and child care staff and act as liaison with other health professionals.

Must have own transportation and ability to participate in statewide trainings and conferences.  Requirements:  BA Degree in Nursing and experience in child care, child development or child and family services. Part time- 20-25 hours per week.  EOE.

Child Care Resource and Referral Director

The Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Director is responsible for the day to day operations of the CCR&R, including a regional component. The CCR&R Director employs, trains, and supervises all staff members of the CCR&R. This individual also ensures that all contractual obligations are honored. The CCR&R Director ensures that the policy decisions of the governing board/advisory council are effectively executed in a timely manner. This individual reports directly to the Craven Smart Start Executive Director.

Strong written and oral communication skills a must

Computer skills: Microsoft Office, financial accounting, and related software.

Willing to travel

Experience: 4 years in early childhood field & 2 years supervisory experience

Education:  BS Degree in Early Childhood Education/ Child Development, Master’s preferred

Salary: $35,000-$40,000
