As a result of this activity, eighty spaces have been created for young children in the Craven County Family Literacy and More At Four classrooms in the western part of Craven County, an area of such needed services. Services provided for children ages birth through age five. Children with special needs are being identified and services provided, which may not have happened previously. Children are attending the early childhood classrooms and participating in activities that improve their language, social, emotional, and physical growth. Parents of these children participate in adult basic education classes and parenting education. Home visits are conducted monthly to ensure that families are working towards their goals.
