Child Care Health Consultant program provides a registered nurse to assist child care centers and homes with health and safety issues. Services for ages birth to five. Call Teddi Greco-Turen at (252) 670-9245 for more information.

Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) is designed to help families find high quality childcare for their children in Craven County. They also offer a toy and book lending library open to the public. Please call (252) 672-5921 for information or assistance.

Quality Enhancement (QE) helps to improve the quality of the childcare centers and homes in Craven County by increasing the educational level of child care teachers. QE is housed at the CCR&R office. For more information call (252) 672-5921.

Child Care Subsidy through Department of Social Services-Call Child Care In-take Worker at (252) 636-4900. This program helps income-eligible families to receive assistance in paying for childcare. Services for birth to Kindergarten.

Community Outreach Coordinator works to educate the community about Smart Start funded services available through the Partnership and to connect families to these services.

Expansion of Hours and Enhanced Services at Craven Cherry Point Child Development Center (CCPCDC) - Havelock, NC. Call Ginger Hill at (252) 447-3892. This activity will offer expanded hours and low ratios to the children they serve. Enhanced services for children with special needs will also be offered. This activity will pay for Early Childhood Specialist (up to 10 hours a week) and one full time Early Childhood Specialist who will focus on having the center secure and maintain a five star rating. Secondary duties will include: provide service coordination, assist families with finding resources for their children and coordinate and facilitate special activity needs for the children enrolled at CCPCDC.

Family Literacy Program at Vanceboro Farm Life & James W. Smith Elementary Schools - Call Renee Harrell at (252) 244-3226. This program provides a high quality, developmentally appropriate early childhood program for children 0-5 years of age while parents work towards their G.E.D. & more.

Family Support Network offers support for families of children with special needs by providing a one-on-one parent match with a trained support parent for emotional support, assistance in finding community resources, and sharing parenting experiences. Inclusion Specialist assists child care providers to include children, 0-5 years with special needs into typical child care settings.  Inclusion Specialist services will include technical assistance, guidance and mentoring to child care providers who have classroom inclusion concerns. Resources, materials, and adaptive equipment will be available for use through the Inclusion Specialist lending library/adaptive equipment resource center. The More at Four Pre-kindergarten Program is a state-funded community-based, voluntary pre-kindergarten initiative designed to prepare at-risk four-year-olds in North Carolina for success in school. Programs are to meet high quality standards, with a specific curriculum that is focused on preparing children in developmentally appropriate ways for success in schools (e.g., emphasis on literacy, numbers, physical/fine-motor development, and problem solving/thinking). Parents As Teachers Program through the Cooperative Extension- Call Melony Mills at 638-3616. This program staffs a Parent Educator who goes into the home to provide parent-child activities. Ages birth to 5.

Technology Enrichment provides computer interaction for children to improve communication, memory, manual dexterity and self-esteem. Ages 3 to 5. Location at Bryant Chapel Church, Cove City, NC. For more information, please call (252) 634-2778.

WAGE$® Project provides education-based salary supplements to low paid teachers, directors and family child care providers working with children between the ages of 0-5. For more information, please call (252) 672-5921.
